Purchasing Process • The organization shall ensure that purchased product conforms to purchase requirement. • Type and extent of control applied depends on effect of purchased product on the final product. Supplier Evaluation • The organization shall evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to supply conforming product. • Criteria of selection, evaluation and re-evaluation shall be established. • Records of the results of evaluation shall be maintained. Verification of purchased product • The organization shall implement inspection or other activities for ensuring that purchased product meets specified purchase requirements. • Where verification is intended to be at supplier’s premises, the organization shall state verification arrangement and method of product release in purchasing documents. Preservation of product • The organization shall preserve the conformity of product during internal processes and delivery. • Preservation shall include identification, handling, packing, storage & protection. • Preservation shall also apply to the constituent parts of the product.
